Today was the first day back at High School, and as I predicted, it was very slow and pointless. It was basically a meet and greet again, followed by what were going to start going.
I finished ‘most’ of my holiday homework, and I can’t be bothered to finish the rest, because its just tedious repetition, and the work im expected to complete I forgot 6 weeks ago at the end of last year.
Hopefully tomorrow won’t be as fruitless, and I might actually learn something.
Alot of people around Australia are starting to call Australia Day “Citizens Day”. They feel that they are being “not included” because the name “Australia Day” does not include their religion and/or culture, and people want to remain “politically correct”.
Frankly this disgusts me. Majority of these people have come from other countries to seek our hospitality and fair living, and then try to change it because they don’t like it. Australia Day celebrates the First Fleets arrival to Australia, and everyone in Australia if free to celebrate it. Its the day where everyone feels proud to be Australian.
It’s true that we rather “invaded” the land from the Aboriginals at the time, but since then, they have been given equal rights and we have formally acknowledged and apologised for the mistreatment they felt.
But to change a name of a public holiday just to stay politically correct is absurd. I can understand the reasoning of being politically correct, but its just come to far.
My Australia day activities included being towed around behind a boat on a donut in the bay, and then going to a party and having some drinks. All in all it was pretty good, and very Australian.
I find myself in this position every year. After the christmas holidays are coming to an end, remember that I have excessive amounts of homework due, after neglecting it all for almost a month thinking I’ll have time later.
There is nothing more painful then this, because towards the end of the holidays, everything seems to be so much more beautiful and exciting, while im stuck at home completing homework. And the distractions are even more tempting towards the end of the holidays as well, things that seem so boring suddenly become the most important thing in your life.
Dont leave homework to the last minute kids.
So For my IT class now, im doing web design and web development, So im going to get right back into this, posting alot of content everyday. The topics could vary from Soccer, My life, Computer topics, Various Xbox games or just general rants on a certain topic.
I have finished all my year 11 exams, it’s such a great feeling. Now I get the next two and a half weeks to relax and forget everything I have ever learnt. And then get into my year 12 studies.
So tonight I did a small amount of study, but enough during the day to feel confidant about my legal exam tomorrow. And of course I made some changes to my blog, which im loving.
During the holidays I hope to learn some CSS and buy a custom doman and implement my own theme :3
During the holidays when im not out enjoying myself, I will be learning some more programming languages. I’d like to start up by learning more about xcode and developing applications, because I have an alright grasp on Obj C already, so hopefully those skills can transfer.
I’d also like to learn some more CSS and PHP While im at it
Im currently at my local Library, studying for my Legal Yearly exam. Legal is probably one of the more easier and simpler subjects to study for, which I love.
And studying at a library is such a great thing, you get so much work done, and it stops me from procrastinating which was my bane.
Within the messages application on mac’s you can link it up with facebook, and talk to people through facebook on the application. It’s brilliant, this means no more pointless scrolling through peoples stupid and annoying status, and more time doing other things 😛
